Goals & Strategies
Founded by young individual Prince Singhal, who was deeply disturbed by the rampant loss of life caused due to drunk drivers Community against drunk driving, CADD was initiated. We are the nation’s pioneer non profit working to protect communities and individuals from drunk driving and underage drinking. Through our several projects which address issues such as drunk driving awareness, minimum age of consumption, responsible drinking, underage drinking, enforcements and stronger legislation, we believe we can work together to save lives and eliminate drunk driving improve safety on our roads.
Some of the key issues addressed by the CADD Campaign since 2001
Awareness and Community building through execution of over 1200 awareness campaigns across the country reaching out to various sections of society with the message of don’t drink and drive and we are diligently working towards building a community that believes that “drunk driving is not ok”
Over the year we have worked towards creating several useful material and Resources including several short films, safe party guide, awareness song, conducting surveys and studies etc which have helped us in reaching out across a large cross section of society and helping them make a choice of sober driving.
Seeking better Enforcement by working together with several Police departments across the country and since 2001 the rate of prosecution of drunk drivers in major cities has gone up from 4 times an year to almost 4 times weekly.
We have constantly mobilized for stronger legislation and proactive laws to address the prosecution of drunk drivers with proposed amendments in the Motor Vehicle Act , as well as seeking a separate section under the Indian Penal Code to penalize drunk drivers causing death and grievous injury
Our success is measured in the number of people who have chosen not to drink and drive and thus made roads safe. With each passing day more and more people are choosing to hire cabs, use driver services, have designated drivers, or use public transport and most importantly choosing to drive sober
With sustained efforts over a period of time in partnership with various stakeholders we would be able to bring down road fatalities
